Republican 5th Congressional District Convention April 2012

On Saturday, April 14, 2012, I attended the Republican 5th Congressional District Endorsing Convention.

There was a stage at the front of the room. Approximately 6 people were seated on the stage. Every person seated was a Ron Paul Libertarian. The Convention was overrun by Ron Paul Libertarians. More than 2/3 of the delegates were Ron Paul Libertarians. When I mentioned that we were at a Republican Convention, they laughed out loud.

They began the Convention. There was no opening prayer. Not even a mention of it.

There was also no Pledge of Allegiance to the US flag.

Then, a man up front stood up and requested that we recite the Pledge of Allegiance. But alas, upon looking around, there was not a flag to be seen.

Then, a clown came forward, dressed in garb, with a very large hat, that somewhat resembled a flag. In Wikipedia, wearing a flag is a form of flag desecration. Wikipedia states the following:

It is increasingly common to see clothing with the image of the flags forming a substantial part of the piece. Views vary as to whether some of this is an act of disrespect.

Such actions may be undertaken for a variety of reasons:

- As a protest against a country's foreign policy.
- To distance oneself from the foreign or domestic policies of one's home country.
- As a protest at the very laws prohibiting the actions in question.
- As a protest against nationalism.
- As a protest against the government in power in the country, or against the country's form of government.
- A symbolic insult to the people of that country.

So it appears that this person was wearing the US flag in order to desecrate our flag.

The clown in the flag suit then went up front and stood on the stage. We were then led in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America. Stunning. To me this seemed a further desecration of the US flag and the Pledge of Allegiance. I refused to participate.

Later, a vote was taken as to whether any endorsement of any Congressional candidate was going to take place. A decision was made to do so.

There were going to be 3 candidates allowed to speak. I was told a couple of days before the Convention by Adam Weigold, Chair, that I would be allowed an unlimited amount of time to speak. The first candidate allowed to speak, Chris Fields, a Libertarian, was allowed an unlimited amount of time. I was then asked by Chris Sinn, a Libertarian, how long my speech would take. I had prepared a 30 minute speech. I told Chris the length of time I expected my speech to take. They knew that I was going to criticize the Libertarian platform, and expose that Chris Fields is actually a Libertarian, and expose his positions, etc. Chris Fields has been trying to pass himself off as a moderate Republican, and has avoided taking any positions in public or on his website. Juliette Jordahl, a Libertarian, then quickly brought a motion to limit my speech to 10 minutes. It passed. I am currently reading a book, Dietrich Bonhoeffer. One of the first things the Nazis did was to outlaw speech criticizing the Nazis. I have been contacted by Libertarian Adam Weigold telling me not to expose Chris Fields, etc. I told Adam that he was infringing upon my liberty - freedom of political speech. One would think that the Libertarians would encourage critical thinking, freedom of speech, and expression of political speech.

Thus, instantaneously, I had to cut out 2/3 of my speech. During my presentation, as mentioned above, they laughed out loud when I mentioned that we were at a Republican Convention. The mention that the Constitution did not protect homosexual behavior brought jeers. I also mentioned that Chris Fields has said that Saddam Hussein got a bad deal, that he applauds Keith Ellison's representation of Muslims, that he thinks our cherished US Constitution is not perfect, that he supports gay rights legislation, and that he would not protect Life with legislation. When I then mentioned that Chris Fields had been advocating, to our Republican college youth, the legalization of pot smoking, this brought loud, lengthy cheering and clapping, and then the announcement that my time was up. I mentioned that President and General George Washington did not advocate pot smoking and that if he did, we probably would not have won the American Revolutionary War.

This is what is going on in your Republican Party folks.

Please note that Libertarians, who actually have PROGRESSIVE positions:

- want to eliminate the TSA

- want to eliminate the Patriot Act

- are anti-war

- are pro gay rights

- don't want to protect Life with legislation

- have a pro Muslim agenda

- are generally anti-Christian

- don't want to support Israel

- don't want to prevent a nuclear Iran

- want to legalize illegal drugs

- want to legalize prostitution

Adam Weigold, a staunch Ron Paul Libertarian supporter, re-ran for Chair of the 5th Congressional District. He ran un-opposed. I do not understand why no Republican ran against him.

Mark Johnson, a Libertarian, SD 60 Chair, ran for Deputy Chair, and was elected. Red Bartholomew, a long time Republican ran against him. The vote was 100 to 40, in favor of Libertarian/Progressive Mark Johnson. Please note that Mark Johnson participated in Occupy Wall Street, at the Hennepin County Government Center.

Jacquelyn America proudly mentioned more than once that she has been working with the Somali community.

I recently read an article in Mother Jones. It reported that the Libertarians did a study and concluded that given its form of government, that the State of New Hampshire would be the easiest State in the Union to take over. Then, 14,000 Libertarians moved to New Hampshire. It appears that a similar strategy is being employed in Minneapolis, and the State of Minnesota.

This is your Republican Party folks. Do nothing at your peril.

Pro Sharia ICNA's disinformation campaign

Pro-Shariah Group Launches Disinformation Campaign

http://news.investors.com/Article.aspx?id=606641&ibdbot=1&p=2

The Islamic Circle of North America has launched a $3 million campaign to convince Americans that Shariah, the legal code of Islam, is no threat. ICNA is not exactly the best salesman.

The New York-based group, which was founded in 1968 by leaders of the Pakistani branch of the radical Muslim Brotherhood, is promoting Shariah law in a "25-city education tour" that features billboards, radio and TV ads, town hall forums and campus interfaith events.

"The plan is to clear up common misconceptions about Shariah and the Islamic faith," ICNA says. It's responding to legislative efforts to ban judges from recognizing Shariah law in Kansas, Texas, South Carolina, Georgia, Oklahoma, Florida, Louisiana, Tennessee, Arizona and South Dakota.

"Muslim-Americans are asking for the same fundamental rights to observe Shariah" as other faiths enjoy observing their tenets, ICNA asserts.

Of course, Shariah involves far more than just worship. It commands a separate political system. Unlike other religions, it seeks to substitute the U.S. Constitution with its own commandments, which discriminate against women and non-Muslims, restrict free speech, and prescribe cruel and unusual punishment, among other things.

Through groups such as ICNA, as well as the hundreds of mosques it controls, the Muslim Brotherhood teaches Muslim-Americans that Shariah is the law of the land. This is in direct contravention of the so-called supremacy clause, which states: "This Constitution shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby."

Shariah has already crept into U.S. court cases, mostly involving family law. Some heavily Muslim areas of the U.S. have become "no-go zones," where domestic abuse cases, even honor killings, are covered up.

But then, ICNA knows all this. That's why it's trying to disarm the public through a massive propaganda campaign in the U.S.

The ICNA official behind the campaign, Sabeel Ahmed, has privately told Muslims: "We should use every opportunity presented or created to sensitize non-Muslim peers and school staff with Islam and establish an environment in which everywhere a non-Muslims (sic) turn, they notice Islam portrayed in a positive way and get influenced by it and eventually accept Islam with Allah's guidance, insha Allah."

It's plain that ICNA has an agenda other than protecting religious freedom. But it goes beyond conversion of non-Muslims. Here's what ICNA is really hiding:

• The secret archives of the U.S. Muslim Brotherhood, seized by FBI agents in 2004, list ICNA among "our organizations."

• The document, found in the basement of a terror suspect in Annandale, Va., and translated from Arabic, says "their work in America is a kind of grand jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within, and sabotaging its miserable house, so that it is eliminated and Allah's religion is made victorious over all other religions."

• The same Brotherhood charter calls for the creation one day of a "Central Islamic Court" in America, according to the best-seller "Muslim Mafia."

• ICNA recently merged with a sister group — the Muslim American Society — which the Justice Department says is the U.S. branch of the Muslim Brotherhood.

• ICNA's "Great Leaders of the last 100 Years" features the late Pakistani Brotherhood leader Maulana Abul Ala Maududi, who has said: "Islam wishes to do away with all states and governments anywhere."

• It also lionizes the late Egyptian Brotherhood leader Sayyid Qutb, who stated: "Wherever an Islamic community exists, it has a God-given right to step forward and take control of the political authority so that it may establish the divine system (Shariah) on earth."

• ICNA has featured in its magazine, "The Message," the writings of the Muslim Brotherhood's spiritual leader, Sheik Yusuf al-Qaradawi, who has stated the following: "What we seek is that legislations and codes be within the limits of the flawless texts and the overall objectives of the Shariah and the Islamic message." Qaradawi, banned from U.S. entry since 1999, has also declared: "We will conquer America."

Those running ICNA's ads and plastering highways (including New York's Lincoln Tunnel) with billboards should know what they're dealing with — a subversive group running a disinformation campaign.

Support Lynne Torgerson for Congress against radical Islamist Keith Ellison and Ron Paul Libertarian Chris Fields

April, 2012

Re: If conservatives don’t support the right values, there isn’t
anyone else left who will do so. Therefore, we must! And,
we must do so for the rest of our lives.

Dear Friends and Family:

I hope this finds you well.

My name is Lynne Torgerson, and I am running to be Congresswomen for the 5th Congressional District of Minnesota. I am seeking to uphold the Constitution, keep America secure, and defeat incumbent Keith Ellison.

I want to begin by thanking all of you for your faithful support over these years, your generous donations, and your words of encouragement. I am very grateful. You have helped support and strengthen our Conservative Cause.

I have realized something lately . . . If Conservatives do not stand up for the right values, who will? No one, that is who. Therefore, we must. We must stand up for the right values, and, we must do so for the rest of our lives. If we don’t, there is no one who will. And then, our values will not be represented in the United States. And, it is our values that have made America great. Therefore, we must fight to keep our values ruling and reigning. They have given us all of the freedoms under which we live. We lived in the most blessed Country on earth. We are the best, safest, most free, and most prosperous Country on earth. I want to help keep it that way.

We must never give up. . . quitters never win, and winners never quit!
Will you help give me the opportunity to defeat progressives by making a contribution to my campaign? Any amount from $25 to the legal maximum of $2500 will help support our righteous cause.

And, we shall eventually win in this district, against radical Islamist Keith Ellison. I am in this for the long haul.

Keith Ellison is a radical Islamist. What is a radical Islamist? A radical Islamist is someone who wants to have Sharia Law supreme in the United States, and will use political means or terror, to accomplish that goal. Keith Ellison, when asked, refuses to say that our cherished US Constitution should remain supreme over Sharia Law. He also recently said that the US will eventually have no borders. Well, if the US has no borders, there is no United States of America! What an anti-American thing for a sitting US Congressman to say.

Keith Ellison is also tied to CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations, which has been a named co-conspirator to funding terrorism, in the Holy Land Foundation Trial, which resulted in convictions for sending $12,000,000.00 to the terrorist organization Hamas. Keith Ellison is the keynote speaker for CAIR annual dinners. CAIR also helps Keith Ellison raise campaign funds. So, we have a sitting Congressman who helps a named co-conspirator to funding terrorism raise funds!

I am running against him.

With Ellison in Congress, America’s security is in jeopardy!

Will you help give me the chance to defeat Keith Ellison by making a contribution to my campaign? Any amount from $25 to the legal maximum of $2500 will give me an edge I need in the race against one of the most radical congressmen our country has ever seen.

We also need to keep Ron Paul Libertarians out of the Republican Party! It appears that they are trying to take over my district, and perhaps the Minnesota Republican State Party. I have been told that there is a majority of delegates in my district who are Libertarians! We cannot let this happen. Libertarians are PROGRESSIVES! For example, they say they:

Want to get rid of the Patriot Act!
Want to get rid of the TSA!
Don’t want to support our friend and ally Israel!
Want to legalize illegal drugs
Want to legalize prostitution
Bring all the troops home
They are anti-war
Don’t want to prevent a nuclear Iran
Won’t protect the life of the unborn with legislation
Are pro gay rights

What? These are PROGRESSIVE positions. They have no business in the Republican Party. And, now, one of them is challenging me for the Republican endorsement.

Will you help me work to defeat the Ron Paul Libertarians . . . the one who says that he wishes Israel does not exist? Any amount from $25 to the legal maximum of $2500 will strengthen our position against such wrongful positions.
Friends and family, it is now time for you to get involved! Please attend your local Republican meetings. Take on leadership positions in the Republican Party, and, run for office. Do not turn the leadership of our beloved Country to liberals, progressives, and radical Islamists!

To remind you, I am a true conservative who will adhere strictly to being a proponent of:

• America the Beautiful
• Strong Homeland Security
• Pro-Life
• Traditional Marriage
• Israel
• Cutting Spending
• A 10% Tax Rate
• A Balanced Budget
• Our cherished US Constitution
• Fighting Radical Islamism
• Individual Responsibility

I am dedicated to standing for and protecting these values. We should be grateful to the TSA, who protects us day in and day out . . . we shouldn’t want to get rid of it. We must protect life, and protect it with legislation, as I will do. We must oppose gay rights legislation. If we do not have a strong moral foundation, it does not matter what economic policy you put on top of it, it will crumble. That is part of what is wrong with this Country today . . . our moral foundation is crumbling.

We must support our ally and friend Israel. This is in direct contrast to Keith Ellison, who always wants to help the Palestinians.

It is also critical that WE CUT SPENDING!!! The United States has the largest budget in the world, and is now in debt to the tune of $16,000,000,000,000.00! This reveals gross mismanagement!

We must also fight radical Islamism. We need to curb immigration, and enforce the laws on our books.

And, people need to get back to work, and, we need to keep businesses in the United States. With all due respect, people need to take themselves off of unemployment. They need to accept whatever job they can get, while they are looking for other work. And, business owners need to stop taking their businesses out of the US. Patriots need to keep their businesses in the US, and employ US workers.

So, we have a long haul ahead of us. I am with you in it, and, I ask you to stay on this journey with me, until we get the job done. For the record, I often win long shots.

So, my fellow Patriots, I’m turning to YOU to help me defeat Keith Ellison and the Ron Paul Libertarians. Will you help me in my campaign by making a contribution of whatever amount you are able? Any amount, from $25, $50, $100, $250, or $2500 will greatly help me in my efforts to fight back against Ellison and reclaim a seat in Congress for those who believe in the Constitution and who have America’s best interests at heart.

Please use the enclosed envelope to rush your donation to my campaign. You may also contribute at www.torgersonforcongress.com. Your generous contribution will bring my campaign that much closer to unseating Ellison and installing a devoted patriot into Congress.

Thank you for your time and for standing with me for the U.S. Constitution and America’s national security.

Thank you, and God Bless You, Minnesota, and America!

Yours in freedom,

Lynne Torgerson
Candidate for United States Congress

P.S. To be sure we are better positioned for victory against this radical incumbent, we will need sacrifice and participation from fellow patriots like YOU. Will you help me in my goal of defeating Keith Ellison by making a contribution of $25, $50, $100, or $250 to my campaign TODAY?

You may contribute via mailing us a donation in envelope at the address below, or, on line a www.torgersonforcongress.com

ACLU absolutely contorts freedom of religion for its own purpose

I just received an email from Mr. Romero of the ACLU>  The ACLU has absolutely contorted freedom of religion in order to promote its head's own purpose.  https://secure.aclu.org/site/SPageServer?s_subsrc=120308_religious_liberty_fb_email&pagename=120308_religious_liberty  Mr. Romero, the head of ACLU, a practicing homosexual, has alleged that religious extremists are infringing upon the rights of same sex couples, and, upon contraception!  First of all, everyone evidently needs to be reminded:  there is no constitutional right to engage in homosexual behavior.  That has already been decided by the US Supreme Court.  Further, really? Catholics are infringing upon contraception!?!  The First Amendment prohibits the GOVERNMENT from infringing upon people's rights to practice their religion however they choose.  The Catholics have long had part of their faith that people should not use contraceptives.  Indeed, the Bible states that children are a gift from God.  So, under freedom of religion, the GOVERNMENT cannot tell Catholics to use contraceptives nor require them to pay for other people to be able to use them.  Now, the ACLU, which is supposed to be the premier defender of Constitutional rights, is wrongly claiming that the wall between Church and State prohibits "religious extremists" from infringing upon people's rights to use contraceptives!  Mr. Romero has completely turned the Constitution on its head in order to promote his own perverted purposes.  We are supposed to follow the Constitution--not contort it to serve our particular desires.  Mr. Romero should be ashamed of himself and he should be immediately removed from his post at the ACLU.  He has lost all integrity.  I have devoted my adult career to protecting the constitutional rights of all peoples, all races, nationalities and religions.  I am an expert in Constitutional law.  Mr. Romero is entirely wrong, and I suspect he knows it, and is taking his position anyway.

Support Lynne Torgerson for Congress!  She will protect your Constitutional rights!

Ellison says that America is the best place to be a muslim

Ellison says that America is the best place to be a muslim.  http://www.minnpost.com/minnclips/2012/03/congressman-keith-ellison-talks-iran-morning-joe  Well, of course it is!  It's because we have the US Constitution and because we don't have Sharia Law.  Sharia Law is the antithesis of the US Constitution.  Yet, Keith Ellison fails to say that the US Constitution should remain supreme over Sharia Law.  Look at the countries where Sharia Law is the law of the land.  Their countries are a mess.  The people are oppressed.  Keep Sharia Law out of America.  We have duly enacted federal, state and city laws.  People who come to the US should abide by our laws and not bring their own.

Ellison also said that he does not support preventing a nuclear Iran.  Lynne Torgerson does support preventing a nuclear Iran.

We need the TSA and to fund it

We need the TSA and to fund it.  Of course we need to fund the TSA. We need the TSA. That is beyond question. Also, it performs police like functions. These are typically funded by the gov't. Rand Paul has it wrong. Why is just trying to stir up trouble?  The Pauls act like they are funded by George Soros.

Ellison wants corporate money out of politics so that only Unions can buy elections

Ellison wants corporate money out of politics so that only Unions can buy elections.    http://email.address-verify.com/q/i2oVstZv6X3Hg2fnBX2Yb_N1dYFpxFA2JPlPqpYexpsgBq2QhtW4h4hIW?HHohT9BVJI4qOaDN4aJr2m809GG1kF5sWUQj5iae8C6RGJgtR6Yh1YuiTlZe1ZX2

The United States Supreme Court decided that corporations can contribute to political actions committees, which committees can support or work to defeat candidates.  Ellison does not like this.  Evidently, he only wants Unions to be able to influence elections with millions of dollars.  That does not seem like a level playing field.  Ellison wants a constitutional amendment to prohibit corporate dollars' involvement in politics. Work to defeat Keith Ellison.  Support Lynne Torgerson for Congress.  She supports the US Supreme Court decision.

Ellison is glad the ban on Sharia Law failed and wants children and illegal aliens to be able to vote

Ellison is glad the ban on Sharia Law failed.  http://fridley.patch.com/articles/keith-ellison-16-year-olds-should-vote  He also wants children to be able to vote.  And, given that he does not support requiring ID to vote, would also allow illegal aliens to vote, as well as fraud to occur, people being able to vote more than once, etc.

Conservatives need to get involved now.   There are more than enough conservatives in the 5th Congressional District to win this election.  Get to your caucuses this coming February 7, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.  Support Lynne Torgerson for Congress.  Thank you.

Keith Ellison opposes even economic sanctions to stop a nuclear Iran

True to his radical Islamist anti American paradigm, Keith Ellison has voted NO to imposing economic sanctions against Iran http://www.startribune.com/local/yourvoices/136827078.html to prevent a nuclear Iran.  This is in contrast to the support for such a measure by even President Obama, Senator Al Franken, and Senator Amy Klobuchar.  Thus, Keith Ellison clearly is not even in line with your standard Democrat elected officials.  Support Lynne Torgerson for Congress, the only candidate in this race who has the backbone to expose Keith Ellison for what he actually stands for.

Republican Jewish Coalition's Mark Miller's Letter to the Editor Regarding the Inappropriateness of Ron Paul

Dear Editor,

In the Opinion Exchange of the January 6 edition of the Star Tribune, "In praise of three non-Romneys," Brian Thiel claims that Congressman Ron Paul's ideology and world view are "sensible," and asks, "What is with this unfaltering support for Israel and anything Christian, anyway?" Moreover, he cannot understand why so many Republicans reject Congressman Paul's foreign policy. To help him understand, I refer him to the article in Y-Netnews.com (December 28, 2011), in which a former senior aide to Mr. Paul, Eric Dondero, revealed that on numerous occasions over a 12-year period Paul said that he "wished the Israeli state did not exist at all," that "Israel is more trouble than it is worth," and that he "supported the Palestinians' calls for the abolition of the Jewish state, and the return of Israel, all of it, to the Arabs."  The vast majority of Republicans reject Ron Paul's ideology because it is morally and intellectually bankrupt, and because Paul simply does not comprehend that support for Israel is in America's military, diplomatic, and economic best interests.

NOT Ron Paul for President: Did you know he wishes Israel doesn't exist?

Ron Paul said he thinks Israel should't exist.  http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4167257,00.html  His 12 year aide says that Ron Paul says this often.  Apparently Ron Paul also thinks that the Israelis should leave and give the land to the Palestinians.  Why would Israel give its land away?  Further, isn't it true that Newt Gingrich revealed that the Palestinians are a fiction, and, Ron Paul was there when Mr. Gingrich said it?

Since the new beginning of Israel in 1948, the United States has been a major supporter of the State of Israel.  In fact, our own United States President Truman's vote was a significant help in establishing the State of Israel.  That is something that the United States has, and always should be proud of.  Further, the United States and Israel are allies and friends.  Allies and friends help each other out.  Israel helps the United States.  The United States helps Israel.  We have similar values as well.  The United States should help foster such a nation in this part of the world.  It is also good for the United States to have a strong friend in that part of the Middle East, where so many people hate the United States and its citizens, and burn our flag and our Presidents in effigy.  Why would any US Congressman encourage the giving away of land to people who hate the people of Israel and the US?  Further, the Palestinians elected for their governing body Hamas, a terrorist organization.  Why would Ron Paul have any nation give away its land to a people governed by a terrorist organization?

Israel is the land of Israel, the Israelis, and the Jews.  That is the it is, should be, and always will be.  And, Jerusalem should be recognized as the capital of Israel, which is obvious.

Where does Ron Paul get his repugnant ideas?  How in the world does he get elected to Congress?  Ron Paul's ideas are repugnant to good and common sense.  Israel is a nation, in the land of Israel, and will always be so.  Further, that is the way it should be and, the United States should support that.  Further, the United States has a long history of assisting Israel both militarily and financially and that should continue as well.  The United States should be part of assisting this small beacon of democracy and light in this very hostile and turbulent part of the world.  Overwhelming selfishness is not the answer to our debt and budget woes.  The main guiding priniciple in what the US chooses to do or not is whether something is the right thing to do or not.

Holy Land Foundation, a friend to CAIR and Keith Ellison, Loses Appeal

Jobs, prosperity, an article by Tim Nerenz, Ph.D

MOMENT OF CLARITY: Downward Wisconsin

November 19, 2011Downward Wisconsin

We used to make things here in Wisconsin.
We made machine tools in Milwaukee, cars in Kenosha and ships in Sheboygan.  We
mined iron in the north and lead in the south.  We made cheese, we made brats,
we made beer, and we even made napkins to clean up what we spilled.  And we made
money.

The original war on poverty was a private, mercenary affair.  Men like
Harnishfeger, Allis, Chalmers, Kohler, Kearney, Trecker, Modine, Case, Mead,
Falk, Allen, Bradley, Cutler, Hammer, Bucyrus, Harley, Davidson, Pabst, and
Miller lifted millions up from subsistence living to middle class comfort.  They
did it - not “Fighting Bob” La Follette or any of the politicians who came along
later to take the credit and rake a piece of the action through the steepest
progressive scheme in the nation.

Those old geezers with the beards cured poverty by putting people to work.
Generations of Wisconsinites learned trades and mastered them in the factories,
breweries, mills, foundries, and shipyards those capitalists built with their
hands.  Thousands of small businesses supplied these industrial giants, and tens
of thousands of proprietors and professionals provided all of the services that
all those other families needed to live well.  The wealth got spread around
plenty.

The profits generated by our great industrialists funded charities, the arts,
education, libraries, museums, parks, and community development associations.
Taxes on their profits, property, and payrolls built our schools, roads,
bridges, and the safety net that Wisconsin’s progressives are still taking
credit for, as if the money came from their council meetings.  The offering
plates in churches of every denomination were filled with money left over from
company paychecks that were made possible because a few bold young men risked it
all and got rich.  Don’t thank God for them; thank them that you learned about
God.

Their wealth pales in comparison to the wealth they created for millions and
millions of other Wisconsin families.  Those with an appreciation for the
immeasurable contributions of Wisconsin’s industrial icons of 1910 will find the
list of Wisconsin’s top ten employers of 2010 appalling:

Walmart, University of Wisconsin–Madison, Milwaukee Public Schools, U.S. Postal
Service, Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Menards, Marshfield Clinic, Aurora
Health Care, City of Milwaukee, and Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs.

This is what a century of progressivism will get you.  Wisconsin is the
birthplace of the progressive movement, the home of the Socialist Party, the
first state to allow public sector unions, the cradle of environmental activism,
a liberal fortress walled off against common sense for decades.  Their motto,
Forward Wisconsin, should be changed to Downward Wisconsin if truth in
advertising applies to slogans.

There is no shortage of activists, advocates, and agitators in this State.  If
government were the answer to our problems, we would have no problems.  The very
same people – or people just like them – who picketed, struck, sued, taxed, and
regulated our great companies out of this state are now complaining about the
unemployment and poverty that they have brought upon themselves.  They got rid
of those old rich white guys and replaced them with…nothing.

Wisconsin ranks 47th in the rate of new business formation.  We are one of the
worst states for native college graduate exodus; our brightest and most
ambitions graduates leave to seek their fortunes elsewhere.  Why shouldn’t they?
Our tax rates are among the worst in the nation and our business climate,
perpetually in the bottom of the rankings, has only recently moved up thanks to
a Governor who now faces a recall for his trouble.

In 1970, the new environmental movement joined unions and socialists in a
coordinated effort to demonize industry.  When I was in college, the ranting
against “polluting profiteers” was like white noise – always there.  They won,
and here is the price of their victory: in 1970, manufacturers paid 18.2% of
Wisconsin’s property taxes – the major source of school funding - and in 2010
those who remained paid 3.7%.

So who is it that caused the funding crisis in our schools and the skyrocketing
tax rates on our homes?  It is the same ignoramuses who are sitting on bridges,
pooping on things, and passing around recall petitions.  The unemployed 26-year
old in the hemp hat looking for sympathy might look instead for some inspiration
from Jerome I. Case, who started his agricultural equipment business at the age
of 21, miraculously without an iPhone 4s.

Mr. Case got rich by asking people what they want and making it for them.  He
did not get rich by telling people what he wanted and waiting for them to do
something about it.  If you want to declare war on your own poverty, memorize
that.

In the last decade alone we have lost 150,000 manufacturing jobs in this state –
over 25%.  And it’s not just jobs that have been lost; the companies that
provided them are gone.  Those jobs are not coming back, no matter how long we
extend unemployment benefits pretending they are.  The 450,000 people who still
work in manufacturing in Wisconsin are damn good it at, but we are now
outnumbered by people who work for government.  A significant number of the
latter are tasked with taxing, regulating, and generally harassing the former.
While it is true that many manufacturers chased low-wage opportunities on their
own, many more were driven out of the state by the increasing cost of doing
business here.

It is a myth that unions improve wages.  If you consider only the 1,000 jobs in
a closed shop, you might think an average union wage is, say, $30/hr.  But if
you add in the zero wages of the 10,000 jobs lost in companies chased out by
union harassment, the average of all 11,000 union workers is reduced to
$2.72/hr.  Do you know the average wage of union iron miners in this state?
Zero.  And the left is fighting hard to keep it that way in Northern Wisconsin -
looking out for the working man, they call it.

It is also a myth that free trade causes job losses.  Over the past three years,
U.S. manufacturers sold $70 billion more goods to our Free Trade Agreement (FTA)
partners than we bought from them.  Conversely, we suffered a $1.3 trillion
trade deficit with countries where no FTA’s exist.  I doubt that kids are going
to learn that in our government-union monopoly schools – it doesn’t fit the
narrative.

No one wants to see another person suffer in poverty, and liberty is the best
economic policy there is.  The great industrialists of Wisconsin took less than
a generation to lift millions up to a life of dignity, pride, prosperity and
good will.  When enterprise was free and government was limited, we all
prospered.

Those great men of industry were not anointed at birth to be rich; they rose
from nothing to great wealth through their own hard work and the value they
added to their employees and their customers through choice, competition, and
voluntary exchange.  That is the only sure path to real prosperity; the debt
economy is a temporary illusion.

Look again at the list of our famous industrialists and the list of our current
employers.  Who would you wish your child or grandchild to grow up to be?  Who
do you think will do more good on this earth – Jerome I Case and his tractors,
or the Coordinator of Supplier Diversity at MPS.

If you chose MPS, then apply now – that job is open, and it pays up to $72,000
plus benefits and early retirement.  Go in peace and save the world.  Me, I'm
going with the tractor guy.

Nov. 29, 2011 5th Congressional District Debate

Unfortunately, Donald Allen edited out over 30 minutes of the debate:  http://ustre.am/:1h8qc

Chris Fields stated that Saddam Hussein got a bad deal, that all troops should be brought home, that he would cut Pell grants, private Social Security. He is also pro choice, pro gay rights, and stated that re funding for Israel starts at $0.00.  Chris Fields has also publicly stated that he applauds Keith Ellison's representation of muslims.  Chris Fields is also a Libertarian.

Lynne Torgerson the only true conservative in this race supports individual responsibility, free market solutions, balancing the budget, cutting spending, peace through strength, is pro life, 1 man 1 woman marriage, fighting radical Islamism, pro Israel, pro women's rights, greenish on environment and food.

Major surplus for teachers in Wisconsin now

Evidently, there is now a major surplus for teachers in Wisconsin.  Below, please find the information forwarded to me:

Remember the violent and disgusting demonstrations over Wisconsin Gov. Scott
Walker doing away with collective bargaining for Teachers unions?  The
results are in.  Some school districts went from a $400,000 deficit to a
$1,500,000 surplus as a result.  They are even hiring new teachers, not
firing like the Liberals said would happen.  Why?

It seems that the insurance company that provided all the "so-called"
benefits to the teachers was an insurance company owned and operated by the
teacher's union.  Since the outfit was guaranteed to get the insurance
business from the teachers, and the State had to pay for it (not the
teachers) the insurance company was increasing annual costs every single
year to become the most expensive insurance company in the state.  Then the
company was donating millions and millions of dollars to its favorite
democrat politicians who, when they got elected, guaranteed to keep funding
the union's outrageous costs.  In other words, the insurance company was a
"pass through" for Wisconsin taxpayer money directly to the democrat
politicians.

Nice racket - and this is the racket that is going on in every single State
that allows collective bargaining.  No wonder the States are taking it away.
Now the State of Wisconsin is free to put the insurance contract out for
bids and, lo and behold, they have saved so much money it has turned
deficits into surplus amounts.  As a result, none of the teachers had to be
laid off, everyone got a raise, etc., etc., and the taxpayers of Wisconsin
don't have to pay more taxes to fund the union's political ambitions.

If you weren't aware of the reasons Gov. Walker was fighting to take away
collective bargaining, it gives you an idea of the problem the Republican
Party has.  Outside of one or two, none of them know how to speak up and
explain properly what the problem was.  We could sure use a Ronald Reagan
now, someone who could explain things for people to understand, since we
know that people don't like to read anymore.

Barack Hussein Obama helps named coconspirator to funding terrorism CAIR, the Council on American Islamaic Relations

Contrary to American national security, our Commander in Chief, Barack Hussein Obama, has directed that in the training manuals for law enforcement and the FBI, that all references to muslims and islam must be removed.  http://news.yahoo.com/obama-administration-pulls-references-islam-terror-training-materials-044605689.html What?  THE greatest threat to our national security are islamic muslims.  Every 911 suicide hijacker was an islamic muslim.  The Time Square attempted bomber was an islamic muslim.  The Christmas underwear attempted bomber of an airplane was an islamic muslim.  So, if there are no references to muslims or islam, what exactly are they going to train our law enforcement and FBI to watch out for?  People other than islamic muslims?  If that is so, then our law enforcement and FBI are going to be missing THE greatest threat to our national security, which are islamic muslims.  Now, am I saying that all islamic muslims are terrorists?  No.  I am saying however that THE greatest threat to our national security are islamic muslims, the extreme ones.
So, how did this come about?  Evidently, CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations, which was a named coconspirator to funding terrorism in the Holy Land Foundation trial involving convictions for sending $12,000,000.00 to the terrorist organization Hamas, complained about the references in training materials, and said it would cut off cooperation with the FBI unless the references were omitted.  First of all, didn't the FBI already cut ties to CAIR when it was named a coconspirator to funding terrorism.  Further, the FBI should cut all ties to CAIR.
Further, our President, Barack Hussein Obama should not capitulate to CAIR demands.  However, it really doesn't appear that he is capitulating.  It appears rather that he is working with CAIR.
Morever, our Commander in Chief, Barack Hussein Obama, is acting in concert with a named coconspirator to funding terrorism, contrary to American National Security.
Make Barack Hussein Obama a 1 Term President.

People compete for jobs, jobs are not a gift

Now, I hate to take a really hard position, and take away hope from people, etc.  However, people need to realize something.  People compete for jobs.  Jobs are not given to people.  A job is not a gift.  A job is also hard work.  That is why it is called work.  It is not necessarily fun.  It is not done for pleasure.  It is not done in one's leisure time.  One is expected to show up every day, on time, and do an excellent job.   This is at any level of job.

People also pay large amounts of money to obtain a higher education, and go to school for many years, to obtain a higher education with the hope of pursuing their calling and/or making a higher level of living.  And, there are no guarantees.  One they finish their education, they then must compete for the job they desire, and, they may spend perhaps 30 years paying back student loans.

People need to realize that they are being led down a false path of hope if they think the government is going to get them a job, or if they are waiting for the government to get them a job.  The government is not an employer.  Businesses employ people.  Government is supposed to only run government, i.e., the executive branch, the legislative branch, and the judicial branch.  The government does not make and sell hamburgers, nor paper, nor gasoline, nor computers, nor chairs, nor cupboards, nor stoves.  It does not come to your house and fix your plumbing, or your furnace, etc.

The only thing government can do to help create jobs is indirectly, i.e., make our business environment better for businesses.  And thus the theory is that when businesses have more money, they employ more people.  The less a business is taxes the more money the business has, and the more people it will employ, and thus there will be more jobs.

People need to be told the truth so that they can actually make a difference in their own life and not wait for a false dream that will never come to fruition.

Every job I have ever gotten is through my own initiative.  I have gone out and looked, applied, gone to school, applied more, then gotten jobs, and showed up daily, on time, and did an excellent job, or as excellent job as I could, to obtain and keep a job.  With all due respect, that is how it is done.  It has nothing to do with the government.

Libertarian Chris Fields Seeking Republican Endorsement

Pursuant to his request, at the time of this writing, I had "a cup of coffee" with Chris Fields. Not much information has been shared about Chris Fields. Thus, this writing will share what Chris Fields has shared with me.

Chris Fields spent the first 20 years of his life growing up in the Bronx, New York. It appears that around high school age, he enlisted in the military. He then spent the last 21 years of his life in the Marines, in San Diego, California, from which he just retired. He achieved the honorable rank of Major. He saw action in the Middle East. I thank him for his service. May God bless him for his service.       He recently married his 2nd wife, whom he met on the Internet, and moved to Minnesota. They own a home in San Diego, California, and St. Paul, Minnesota. To establish a presence in our district here in the 5th (so he can run for political office in the 5th), he recently purchased a condo or apartment in Minneapolis. Thus, at the time of this writing, he has lived in Minnesota about 4 months.
Chris Fields describes himself as a Libertarian.
He told me that he is pro-choice "at every stage" possible.
He also told me that he supports gay rights legislation. It should be noted that gay rights legislation is the most ultra liberal progressive position.
At a recent speaking engagement, Fields "applauded Keith Ellison for his representation of muslims."  Keith Ellison supports CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations,  which was a named coconspirator to funding terrorism in a case where people were convicted of sending $12,000,000.00 to the terrorist organization Hamas.  Keith Ellison is regularly the keynote speaker at CAIR's Annual Banquet.

Fields volunteered twice that Saddam Hussein got a bad deal. He later added that he was glad that he was gone.  Lynne Torgerson, in contrast, is glad we took down Saddam Hussein.  Saddam Hussein murdered thousands of his own people, would reimburse families of suicide bombers $25,000.00, and regularly sent Scud missiles into civilian terrorities in Israel.  His own people executed him.
At a recent speaking engagement, Fields stated that all troops should be brought home and that even 3000 troops was too many.     At a recent speaking engagement, Fields stated that he wants to establish "Enterprise zones" in North Minneapolis, where companies would operate tax free and provide jobs to local residents in North Minneapolis.

Fields told me that he recently began attending church, feeling that previously it was inappropriate because he wore the uniform of a Marine.
Fields' future career plans are uncertain. Also, he apparently has no prior business experience, no prior experience in the law, and no prior political experience.

Libertarians

I am sorry, but there is much in the Libertarian platform with which I do not agree. These positions have no place in the Republican Party. Libertarians here in the 5th Congressional District:

           Support abortion

           Support gay rights legislation

           Are anti-war

           Are anti-government

           Support legalizing illicit drugs

           Support legalizing prostitution

These positions are in direct conflict with the Republican platform. These positions have no place in the Republican Party.

The support of gay rights legislation is that of ultra liberal progressives. Simply because someone may support conservative economic policies does not make them Republican nor conservative. It is just anti-government.

We are not supposed to be anti-government. Rather, we should support good government, which is consistent with it being smaller.

Again, Chris Fields self-identifies himself as a Libertarian.

America Does Not Need Another Stimulus Program

America does not need another stimulus program.  Barack Hussein Obama is trying to mislead the public into believing that he is going to create jobs.  A stimulus bill does not create jobs.  It only pays a few people on a short term basis to do some work.  This does not solve their problem.  Businesses create jobs.  People get jobs by accepting whatever job they can get.  This is individual responsibility.  The government cannot solve the jobs problem.

Fridley Patch Posts Article on Lynne Torgeron's Announcement of Candidacy for Congress

Lynne Torgerson announced Sunday she would run as a Republican the office of U.S. Representative in Minnesota's Fifth Congressional District, which includes Fridley.
The announcement came Sept. 11 at a home-turned-campaign headquarters in northeast Minneapolis Sunday before a small gathering of supporters.
With her campaign theme song, Oh, Happy Day, playing in the background, Torgerson said she was "entering the race to stand for the moral, Judeo-Christian values the country was founded upon.
"That's our foundation, and if we don't have our foundation in place, then the economy and things aren't going to be doing so well."
Ran in 2010
Torgerson is a Minneapolis attorney
who ran against the incumbent, U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, as an independent in 2010.
She expressed support for "traditional family values" and her oppositon to gay-rights legislation.
She stated her belief that "government can't create jobs, but we can create an environment in which businesses can flourish." And she said she would seek to "greatly curtail the power of the unions."
Sharia Law Charge
Torgerson went on to say:
It is important ... to support our U.S. Constitution. I think I still need to expose Keith Ellison for being a radical Islamist.
I do believe that he says he does eventually want to replace the U.S. Constitution with Sharia law. I recently had an opportunity to ask him in public what he believed to be supreme, the U.S. Constitution or Sharia law.
He evaded the question. He refuses to state that the U.S. Constitution should be supreme over sharia law, which is to me quite surprising.
He talked about how the Constitution has been amended and it appears that he would amend the Constitution to incorporate Sharia law.
Other Issues
Torgerson also voiced support for "green energy," "a better food supply-organic foods, non-genetically-altered foods;" reducing the national debt, and health-care reform—including the need "to reduce the power of health insurance companies dramatically."
At the end of her announcement, Torgerson proposed a toast "to victory in 2012. And if not then, 2020.

Fridley Patch Posts Article on Lynne Torgerson's Announcement to Run for Congress

Minnesota Independent Article on Lynne Torgerson's Announcement of Candidacy

Lynne Torgerson launched her second campaign against Rep. Keith Ellison on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 this weekend at her home in Golden Valley, calling for a return to “Judeo-Christian values” and labeling Ellison as a “radical Islamist” who wants to do away with the U.S. Constitution.
Torgerson, who has the backing of Tea Party Nation, also took shots at fellow Republican challenger Chris Fields for his divorce and support for LGBT rights.

Torgerson is running for the Republican nomination in Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District. Earlier this year, she told Tea Party Nation that she would be running—the group backed her previous run for office. Torgerson raised $60,000 in the last cycle—nearly as much as the Republican in the race. She self-financed $25,000 of that money and she was the only Minnesota-based donor to her campaign; all other contributions are from out of state. She ran as an unaffiliated independent.
One of Torgerson’s main issues is an opposition to civil rights for gay people. She said homosexuality goes against “natural law.”
“Two men cannot make a baby. Two women cannot make a baby. Further, all cultures which have evidenced moral decline have fallen,” she wrote. “Homosexuality has traditionally been seen as evidence of moral decline. Thus, homosexuality is not good for America, nor any culture.”
Torgerson told Golden Valley Patch at her 9/11 campaign launch that she was “entering the race to stand for the moral, Judeo-Christian values the country was founded upon. That’s our foundation, and if we don’t have our foundation in place, then the economy and things aren’t going to be doing so well.”
She said it was important to her to support the U.S. Constitution.
“I still need to expose Keith Ellison for being a radical Islamist. I do believe that he says he does eventually want to replace the U.S. Constitution with sharia law,” Torgerson said.
Torgerson told Patch she recently asked Ellison whether he believed the Constitution or “Sharia law” was supreme.
“He evaded the question,” she said. “He refuses to state that the U.S. Constitution should be supreme over Sharia law, which is to me quite surprising. He talked about how the Constitution has been amended and it appears that he would amend the Constitution to incorporate Sharia law.”
Torgerson’s question was caught on video posted by her campaign. In the exchange, Ellison said there are no communities in the United States that have tried to install Sharia law.
“I believe that the United States Constitution which has been amended well over 25 times is the bedrock of American law,” Ellison said. “This whole movement to try to ban Sharia, this bill has been introduced in over 22 states, in my view, this is a very thin-disguised effort at religious persecution of people who are Muslim.”

Is an oath of allegiance required to become a US citizen?

Today, I attended the swearing in ceremony of a friend of mine, to become a citizen of the United States.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oath_of_Allegiance_%28United_States%29 Most of the applicants happily sung our national anthem The Star Spangled Banner, and, energetically took the Oath of allegiance to the United States. Very disturbingly however, too many failed to sing The Star Spangled Banner, and more importantly, failed to take the Oath. They simply stood there and said nothing. These people were given citizenship rights even though they did not say the Oath. Are they actually citizens? Why are we allowing this?

No justification for a Palestinian State

There is no Palestinian State to create.  Hence, there is no justification for a Palestinian State.  For an excellent article on the issue:  http://cnpublications.net/2011/08/04/no-justification-for-palestinian-state/

The debt ceiling and our elected officials

Whether or not to raise the debt ceiling is an issue upon which reasonable minds can differ.  This is illustrated by the differing opinions of our well respected leaders, Bachmann, Boehner, and West.  So, simply because one of our leaders takes an action or one or few decisions that we may or may not agree with, does not justify castigating them or seeking their ouster.  We must allow our leaders to lead.  It appears that they have best interests at heart.  These are good men and women.  Support your leaders.  Let them know that you are behind them no matter what.
